The two-part series, titled “Shoumeikou,” depicts the “loss of sensitivity” and “abandoned bodies” that are occurring in a world transformed by the pandemic. The work, which is themed around scent, sense, and light, is an intersection of OrganWorks’ disciplined physicality and suggestive fiction. The first part will be performed at KAAT. The second part is scheduled for January 2026.

Performance details
OrganWorks’ latest masterpiece depicts the “loss of sensitivity” and “abandoned bodies” that are occurring in a world transformed by the pandemic.
The changing times have certainly changed the world economy, social ethics, and conflicts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the midst of this chaos, our sensibilities have disappeared and the world is in chaos. However, the only thing that has not changed is our bodies. Our abandoned sensibilities are striving to move forward into the future. This is a collection of works themed around scent, sensation, and light, questioning the past.
OrganWorks questions the existence of humans through physical fiction
Synopsis
The paintings are analyzed from two approaches, “dance” and “theatrical,” and the “body” that will remain after the process is visualized. The stage is set as an atelier, and the dancers attempt to portray themselves using paint and to fuse with the outside world using tape. The act is transmitted from dancer to dancer, repeating and transforming, just like Theo Jansen’s works.
It will provide visitors with a novel viewing experience, as if they were in a museum.
The first part will be performed at KAAT in June 2025. The second part is scheduled for January 2026.
